Manga: A girl cleanses the lost souls of the world between heaven and hell known as the Threshold while trying to regain the memories of her previous life.
The anime: Young girls flip the fuck out when their friends make other friends.

Personally, I hate strongly dislike when people describe animes, mangas and/or graphic novels as “cartoons”. It projects the idea that they’re childish forms of entertainment, and trust me, the stuff I read/watch is definitely not for children.
